A rash of bizarre murders in New York City seems to point to a group of grotesquely deformed vagrants living in the sewers. A courageous policeman, a photo journalist and his girlfriend, and a nutty bum, who seems to know a lot about the creatures, band together to try and determine what the creatures are and how to stop them.。四个多年未见的大学同学聚会碰面，偶然中一部手机，里面有一条未发出的短信，提到有一笔钱在一所废弃学校里。他们不顾学校闹鬼的传闻和报导，夜闯废弃学校寻宝。随后发生了一系列灵异事件，同行伙伴相继失踪、死去……。
